FAQs

Upcoming Trips: What is unique about Home Comfort Travel?

To restate our philosophy: We provide a different kind of travel experience. One where you can experience a classic travel destination and unique accommodations, but on your own terms. You have many choices when it comes to planning your next vacation. Choosing HomeComfort Travel is the way to go if you want to have all the comforts of home without sacrificing all the aesthetics and charm of the region you are visiting. In addition, we focus directly on providing a warm and inviting atmosphere to enjoy your stay. Open areas to relax, read, mingle or catch up on email along with exceptional meals using local ingredients, in addition to searching out regional wines, cheeses, fresh breads and pastries all combine together with great company and geographical access to the best a region has to offer. These define our goals.

The formula is simple:

You get there + We provide accommodations and a hospitality package + You enjoy the region at your own pace and in your own style = HomeComfort Travel

We choose great accommodations that include family run country houses, historic chateaus, castles and classic villas.

You can be on your own, with another couple or in a group. We are there to take care of the details and provide the warm and welcoming hospitality you will come to expect from HomeComfort Travel.

How Do I Get Started?

Please give us a call at 757-570-7019 or send an email to <mailto:info@homecomforttravel.com>info@homecomforttravel.com and we can begin planning your next travel destination.

Do you provide travel arrangements?

We can recommend a trusted travel agent to guide and help you in the process of getting to our destinations and potential trip extensions and HomeComfort Travel can also help in making these arrangements for you. Everyone is different and we want you to travel in the way you prefer.

We do provide details regarding travel within the region and specifically reaching the destination. Feel free to ask and we will address any questions or concerns you may have.

Who will I be staying with?

Properties typically consist of anywhere from 9 to 25 private or en-suite rooms.

You can organize several couples or singles that like to travel together, with family/friends and take the entire property or simply travel as a solo couple. Groups have typically consisted of a combination of these from throughout the US and abroad. Our unique family atmosphere provides for easy camaraderie among travelers.

What is the cost?

The cost for each of the particular trips is noted in a couple of different ways on the website. We display the cost for each trip on the trip package’s specific page on this site as well as on any flyers we distribute for that trip.

Cost is typically a per couple value but we can always make arrangements for singles looking to connect with or join in with a group.

We offer a quality trip at a very affordable cost.

What does a typical package include?

Upon your arrival we realize that you’ve had a full day of reaching your destination so our goal is a variety of comfort foods in an informal welcome reception. We’ll have name tags ready for ease of meeting your fellow travelers and where they are from while you enjoy your first taste of the local culinary pleasures you will enjoy throughout your stay. This is your time to unwind from jet lag or perhaps the second leg of your journey and to munch, mingle, relax and settle in for the week.

A selection of delicious breakfast menus will greet you each morning with the aroma of fresh brewed or french pressed coffee along with tea and juices. An early rising jaunt out to the nearest local bakery adds the touch of fresh baked breads and breakfast pastries to begin your day.

Dinner is typically served “at home” 3 or 4 evenings after your busy days out touring or after a catch-up laid back day enjoying the indoor and outdoor areas of our accommodations or perhaps by the pool at some locations. That is, of course, unless an irresistably delicious local restaurant is reserved for the group one evening as a night out . One evening meal is usually presented as a very special occasion that the ladies will absolutely love………..details must remain a secret till then and only the men will be informed of specifics at the appointed time.

With good weather, dinner can be an elaborate barbecue or an extensive buffet outdoors. Sometimes a made-to-order menu selection will be offered or a cooking class which will then provide that evenings’ dinner for the group. Menus for all dinners will provide delectable selections, again using fresh, in-season local ingredients accompanied by regional wines where available and of course, inviting desserts. These mealtimes provide the setting for interesting conversations with fellow travelers sharing various interests, backgrounds, family and career paths. We’ve seen new friendships formed and lasting ones grow deeper wit great enjoyment of camaraderie among all. We’ve at times even been blessed with a musician or two among the group to take to the piano! Some locations with fireplaces and wood available have allowed us to close out an evening outdoors by the campfire complete with marshmallows roasting and stories of days gone by.

If you don’t sell enough rooms for a specific property will you cancel the week?

There is a clause in the Terms and Conditions that states we have the right to cancel if not enough rooms are sold but we are booking so well in advance that we don’t anticipate this being an issue. However, in the unlikely event of a cancellation for a particular trip, we will of course refund any monies paid to HCT.
